About the Role

  • Monitors all aspects of the daily production schedules, including E.C.N. and planning new product launches; cycle counts all WIP and Finished Goods to maintain accurate alignment with MRP system; responsible for customer logistics supply chain rating, manages all customer shipments and creates/maintains the policies and procedures related thereto; ensures material processes and internal/external labeling requirements are adhered to.
  • All aspects & functions involved in the application of production and materials scheduling, procedural maintenance and compliance and inventory control.

Your Responsibilities

  • Obtain all planning and shipment releases from the customer via EDI, phone, e-mail and/or fax. Direct communication with customers regarding changes, immediate requirements, and packaging. Advise appropriate departments of any major changes in customer demand, production planning and policy.
  • Work closely with other departments and advise of short notice increases or reductions. Maintain MRP and schedule accuracy for all shifts daily. Must maintain accurate inventory for finished goods, work in process, outside process, packaging, quality hold and raw stock on a daily basis, through cycle counting. Schedules and prioritize outside processors, control and monitor outbound freight costs.
  • Responsible for all dunnage issues, elimination of repacking, inventory tracking, storage location etc. Reviews weekly releases to determine when service orders are due and coordinates production of parts. Schedule trucks for customer requirements regarding routed, behind schedule, and expedites shipments. Responsible for MMOG compliance and CTPAT Standards.
  • Responsible for Production System and synchronous material flow through lean manufacturing and 5S practices. Coordinates full physical inventory cycle counts and physical inventories as needed. Responsible for balancing all cycle counts to perpetual inventory records and ensuring inventory accuracy. Rectifying discrepancies by determining root cause and implementing corrective actions, procedures and incident reports as necessary. Conducts supplier and\or customer visits as needed.
  • Supports Employee Charter and Open Door Process. Demonstrates and promotes Magna Core Values. Responsible for materials and labeling planning E.N.C. changes and launching of new products. Assures all safety, quality, delivery, cost, environmental, production throughput and budget practices, objectives and improvements are met. Responsible for creating KMI reports for subjects listed.
  • Meets first time through, inventory and scrap objectives. Participates in continuous improvement activities including MAFACT, and submits improvement suggestions. Ensures that company policies and procedures are adhered to including TS16949, ISO14001 (EMS), and Employee Handbook. Follows MIOSHA and MPTSH safety regulations and policies, including wearing required P.P.E. (Personal Protective Equipment). Supports production related policy adherance and training of Materials teammates regarding.

Who we are looking for

  • Language Skills: Requires extensive tact and communication skills (verbal and written) for direct customer communication. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to create and interpret graphs.
  • Reasoning Skills: Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to use problem solving when presented with problems or duties that do not have immediate answers or results.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient on the computer, including knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Prior experience utilizing AS400 Database software and ability to create spreadsheets.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, or Associate's degree w/3-5 years of related experience and training. Prior experience with automotive related releases, production and shipping requirements at an OEM, or a Tier I or II automotive supplier facility, experience using SAP or similar MRP system, reporting and data entry. Knowledge and understanding of the production and purchasing cycles of a JIT environment. Must have the ability to handle high stress, constant interruption, and direction changes with little or no notice, and minimal direct supervision. Experience with Outlook, Powerpoint, Teams and Excel.
