Job Overview:
Lord Abbett is looking for a quantitative analyst to work with a dynamic team of seasoned quants, portfolio managers and research analysts to build out a suite AI based tools to boost productivity in our investment process. We strive to combine the best of quantitative and fundamental analysis to achieve superior returns. We are responsible for the full lifecycle of models including design, architecture, research and production. Great opportunity for a talented programmer with an analytical bent to evolve to impact investment performance across a wide array of investment funds.
We’ll trust you to:
- Understand, maintain, improve and build AI and quantitative tools essential to investment process
- Work with the quantitative team, fundamental investment analysts and portfolio managers to express investment views, philosophies and processes through the use of innovative tools and methodologies
- Work with investment teams to enhance scale, rigor, and capacity of their process through software development best practices
- Have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and validation
- Incorporate machine learning techniques to generate quant equity signals
- Collaborate on improving analytic library, data sourcing and end-user reporting
- Propose and implement ideas that make AI resources more valuable to the broader firm
You'll need to have:
- 2-5+ years of independent research or developer experience preferably in financial services.
- Strong programming skills in one or more programming languages including Python.
- A PhD/MS in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, electrical engineering, physics or computer science
- Strong design, coding, testing, and debugging skills a plus. A proponent of strong collaborative software engineering techniques and methods including code review, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches appreciated
- Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platform is a plus

- The skills to process and apply new concepts quickly and effectively
- The ability to optimally connect with multiple partners, including fundamental and quantitative researchers, technology partners and senior management

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
