Job Overview:
Lord Abbett’s Sustainability team provides strategic leadership for sustainable initiatives across the firm. As a Proxy Voting Associate, you will primarily support Lord Abbett’s investment stewardship efforts to promote active ownership on our clients’ behalf across asset classes and geographies. This includes, but is not limited to, managing proxy voting research and execution, issuer engagement, and KPI monitoring. Reporting directly to the ‘Head of Sustainability, Investments’, you will leverage your deep experience in proxy voting, sustainability, and corporate governance. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
We’ll trust you to:
- Take ownership of Lord Abbett’s proxy voting program
- Analyze proxy voting proposals and formulate voting recommendations in line with the firm’s proxy voting policy
- Collaborate with portfolio managers and analysts to determine voting responses
- Manage all operational aspects of the proxy voting program
- Continuously improve and refresh Lord Abbett’s proxy voting policies and procedures
- Conduct thorough research to inform engagement efforts and report engagement outcomes
- Assist with sustainability-related RFP and DDQ responses
- Take ownership of tasks related to Lord Abbett’s annual impact report as well as the UN PRI report.
You'll need to have:
- 3+ years of direct experience in proxy voting, corporate governance, and issuer engagement
- Familiarity with SEC filings, including Form N-PX
- Proven ability to independently manage projects, meet deadlines and adapt to shifting priorities with agility
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset
- Strong communication skills to clearly distill complex concepts into actional ideas for internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to build credibility with senior leaders and collaborate effectively across teams
- Proficiency in digital tools, including Microsoft Office applications, and experience with proxy voting platforms.

Compensation Information: Annual base salary for this role is $100,000-$115,000. Salary is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different.
Discretionary Bonus: Role may be eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus. Discretionary bonuses are determined by several factors including, but not limited to, firm, team, and individual performance.
