The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Description

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced Data Science Product Manager to drive our Enterprise Data Science tools' capability vision, strategy, and roadmap. In this role, you will help shape Liberty Mutual's DS strategy, including supporting the DS experience using tools. The Enterprise Data & Data Science (ED&DS) Product team was established to provide centralized support and expertise to data science teams across our global organization. Our focus areas include AI/ML technology, Responsible AI, data science best practices, and DS/AI enablement and acceleration. Roles and Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers and Software Engineers to translate DS business strategies/use cases into supporting and optimizing the Data Science Technology experience
  • Develops comprehensive product vision and translates into specific feature strategies and roadmaps
  • Communicates the product vision effectively to key stakeholders, team members, partners, and senior management
  • Leverages KPIs to inform recommendations and decisions
  • Works closely with IT and other Business Unit counterparts to ensure resource alignment in support of product vision and roadmaps
  • Develops vision and strategy for Data Science reuse for tools, models and capabilities

Qualifications
  • Knowledge of MLOps, DS infrastructure, and organizational challenges & obstacles as it relates to scaling and supporting DS solutions (hands on experience would be a plus)
  • Bachelor`s degree in quantitative field with 7+ years, typically 10 or more years, of related experience within insurance, actuarial, data science or technology product management preferred
  • A minimum of three years recent experience in a DS or technology product role with a proven track record of providing leadership on complex / challenging technical product delivery required
  • Demonstrated ability to think broadly across multiple good viewpoints
  • Excellent communication, analytical, interpersonal, organizational and team building skills, business judgement, and proven expertise in directing the efforts of agile teams
  • Experience with influencing product strategy at a senior level and a strong execution track record
  • Ability to continuously prioritize work based on business value and product strategy
  • Ability to create and foster consensus from the whole business for a coherent product vision
