The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

Small Commercial State Management allows you to harness your creativity and collaborate with state and internal product leaders to ensure we optimize small commercial success at the local level. We not only own the P&L for our states and regions, we also own ensuring products are deployed in an optimal way and collaborate with our state team partners to craft and execute on state level strategies that enhance how we go to market on a state-by-state basis.

The Small Commercial State Management team is looking for highly motivated individual contributor to join our USRM Small Commercial Regional team leading the Mid-Atlantic. This position offers an opportunity to own and drive state and regional execution to achieve our profit and growth goals. You will lead region and state strategy and conduct analysis to support the direction of your territory and lead cross functional teams through the development and implementation of new initiatives. This is a highly visible role, offering an opportunity to collaborate with Regional leadership as well as internal Product leadership to provide state and regional knowledge to inform franchise strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Partners with Region leadership and State Product Leader to provide analysis and recommendations to drive towards topline and bottom-line goals.
- Provides support, analysis, and recommendations to assist in the selection of rate and profit initiatives for states across all SC product lines.
- Under minimal direction, leads complex analysis and identifies trends and issues in states, regions, and country wide, collaborates to recommend and set state/region-level product line and underwriting strategies, and leads implementation of changes.
- Effectively collaborate with cross functional teams, including Distribution, Underwriting, Risk Analytics, USDS and others, in the development of state or regional strategies.
- Acts as a thought-leader on countrywide product initiatives.
- Directs analysts in the building of new tools (spreadsheets, databases, reporting, and other templates).
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports on competitors and industry activity. Directs analysts on competitive research activities, review of industry publications and news articles.
- Regularly presents research, recommendations and initiatives to region leaders, cross-functional departments and Sr. Leadership and participates in broader strategy conversations.
- Occasionally seeks out opportunities to guide or teach the broader team. Proactively seeks out mentorship opportunities with less experienced analysts.
- Actively mentors' analysts through complex analysis, drawing of conclusions and development of recommendations.
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or other quantitative field
- Minimum 7, typically 10 years or more of relevant work experience
- Master's degree and/or ACAS or similar designation beneficial
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (eg, SAS, Access)
- Must have good planning, organizational, analytical, decision-making and communication skills
- Experience managing projects preferred
