Description and Requirements

The Consumer Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing Lenovo's retail strategy to drive growth and success across key accounts. This role is pivotal in managing existing relationships, targeting new retail channels, and achieving market share growth, while also overseeing the financial and operational success of the consumer sales division.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute retail strategy: Create strategic joint business plans, conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and establish executive engagement with key retail partners to foster long-term relationships.
  • Manage P&L and financials: Own the Profit & Loss for consumer sales, ensuring revenue, gross profit, and co-marketing targets are met, while managing discounts, rebates, and special incentives.
  • Grow retail account base: Manage and expand relationships with existing retail accounts, ensuring continuous engagement and maximizing share of wallet.
  • Target new consumer channels: Identify and establish relationships in emerging retail channels, with a focus on new market segments and innovative distribution opportunities.
  • Drive promotional activities: Oversee key seasonal promotional campaigns, including Back to School and Christmas, ensuring alignment with sales targets and maximizing consumer engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Work with Iberia and EMEA product management teams to develop the product line-up, determine pricing strategies, and secure margin approvals to align with customer demands.
  • Team leadership and development: Lead, coach, and develop the consumer sales team, setting clear performance standards, and building a strong culture of accountability and success.
  • Market share growth and reporting: Ensure Lenovo achieves market share growth targets, regularly report progress to the General Manager, and develop solutions to address challenges in real-time.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in retail/IT sales: Minimum 10 years of working experience, with at least 5 years in a people management role within the retail or IT hardware industry, preferably with exposure to the PC sector.
  • P&L management skills: Proven track record of managing P&L, delivering revenue growth, and achieving profitability through efficient financial management.
  • Strategic planning expertise: Demonstrated experience in developing and executing business plans that drive both long-term growth and immediate sales performance.
  • Strong customer relationships: Existing network of contacts within large format retailers, e-tailers, and distributors is highly desirable, with a proven ability to foster long-term partnerships.
  • Leadership and coaching abilities: Experience leading teams, coaching, and setting clear goals, with a focus on developing talent and managing both high performers and low contributors.
  • Sales-driven mentality: A proactive, results-oriented approach with the ability to work under pressure, solve problems, and seize new opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills: Strong presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage with senior management and key decision-makers across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and organized: Ability to structure planning processes, analyze data, and implement a cadence that ensures execution and forecasting accuracy.
