Description and Requirements

Position Description:

Lenovo Data Center Group is seeking a Database Administrator to work on our Lenovo Systems CARE application suite. You would be part of small but global team developing, maintaining and supporting an application suite which is critical part of our support model for Lenovo customers.

We are seeking a candidate with database skills but also willing to learn new things and new technologies.

Job responsibilities for this position include:

  • Planning and development of the database.
  • Database security.
  • Database optimization.
  • Issue troubleshooting.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for proposed architectural design.
  • Write infrastructure related code when needed (Perl, Python, Linux Shell).

Position Requirements:

Preferred:

  • Relevant database administration experience.
  • Advanced PL/SQL experience.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to write scripts in Python, Perl or Linux Shell for administrative or automation tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to work with remote teams across cultures and fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Language Skills - fluent in spoken and written English.
  • B.S/M.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Is a plus:

  • Experience with administration and maintenance of Linux.
  • Experience in software development.
  • Experience with Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of the KVM hypervisor and OpenStack technologies.
  • Knowledge of Security.
  • Experience with Middleware.
