The AEGIS Sector at Leidos currently has an opening Voice Network Engineer to work in our Huntsville, AL office. This position will fill a key role in helping lead the architecture, design, and testing of NASA's Voice Services across the agency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Works with Network Architect to evolve Voice Collaboration Architecture for NASA
  • Works with AEGIS Engineers across the Agency to develop the evolution of voice networks in alignment with established standards.
  • Testing and development of approved voice networking products for use on the NICS contract
  • Management and support for NASA's Enterprise Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Infrastructure supporting all NASA centers, to including Session Manager Edition (SME), Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Cisco Unity Connections (CUC), Cisco Unified Presence Server (CUPS), Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE), and analog gateways.
  • Develop integration plans for new technologies to enhance the customer experience.
  • Testing and validation of new designs and software upgrades in NASA's lab environment prior to deployment into production.
  • Development of detailed Release and Deployment Packages (RDP) to be implemented by other Voice Engineers and operations personnel.
  • Working with the AEGIS Security team, maintains the System Security plan and works with Voice Engineers to develop vulnerability resolutions.
  • Provides Tier 3 support for Voice Engineers throughout the Enterprise.
  • Development transition plans to new Voice technologies.

Basic Qualifications:

The candidate must have excellent oral and written skills and be able to present technical information in formal presentations to both internal and external customers. Candidate must have extensive experience with Cisco Unified Communications Systems.

The candidate must have a concrete working knowledge of SIP. VoIP network design, VMware, and telecommunications standards. Candidate must be a self-starter, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, able to develop technical guidance documents and multitasking between multiple ongoing projects to ensure customer requirements and timelines are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced vendor certifications such as CCNA/CCNP/CCIE.

Microsoft Teams Telephony deployment experience

PowerShell experience.

Experience with Cisco Collaboration equipment and software is a must.

Experience supporting large-scale voice networks in an enterprise environment is preferred.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $67,600.00 - $122,200.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
