We are in search of a Technical Writer to support the IRS PRPS Program. The ideal candidatewill be responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation. The Technical Writer writes and edits technical documentation for all the project's hardware and software to include installation, configuration and how-to documentation. Creates code documentation for software; produces implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provides field, data definition, and data flow documentation and formats technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and maintaining operations documentation, user guides and manuals and technical publications.
- Understand basic grammar concepts.
- Responsible for creating technical documentation across a variety of document types.
- Gather technical information, prepare written text.
- Proficient in various word processing and presentation tools, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
- Under general supervision, grasp fundamental concepts and produce technical documentation for various types of documents related to a program or project of comparable complexity.
- Prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences.
- Coordinate layout and design of documents.
- Researches highly technical subject matter, organizes information from multiples sources, and expresses technical information in written form that is comprehensible to a wide audience of readers.
- Apply concepts for technical writing based on engineering drawings, technical information from engineering documentation, consultations with engineers and subject matter experts, and other available sources.
- Produce defense acquisition documentation, user manuals, training manuals, and other documentation utilized by the end-user community of DoD electronic equipment and systems.
- Interpret engineering and maintenance drawings, operational procedures to understand and blend large quantities of computer related information.
- Apply customer's technical manual standards to work products.
- Will work independently and in teams.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience in technical writing and editing. However, an equivalent combination of education, certification(s) and relevant experience will be considered.
- Understanding of industry practices and standards relevant to technical writing.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI), similar to a Public Trust Clearance, prior to start.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current IRS MBI.
- Prior Internal Revenue Services (IRS) experience.
Clearance:
- Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) for 3 years and be Federal Tax compliant.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $49,400.00 - $89,300.00
