Description

Leidos is looking for a Systems Engineer with a TS/SCI with polygraph to support work on an information technology (IT) contract in Northern Virginia. The contract supports leading the engineering, delivery, sustainment, and evolution of the client's broader Information Technology (IT) in support of its mission. The client's office leadership provides management and leadership for a wide spectrum of activities. Office lines of business include Collaboration Services, Endpoint & Security Services, Infrastructure Engineering and Hosting, Mission Unique Services, and Business Management.

The Systems Engineer will deploy, install, and maintain servers, routers, edge switches, telecommunications systems, UPS systems, and desktop PC hardware in support of customer operations. This is a fast-paced program that requires someone who works well in a dynamic environment. The Systems Engineer is responsible for procedural input to the planning, preparation, and execution of all projects. Responsible for the technical direction, leadership, and training of less experienced staff. Must have the ability to complete complex assignments without direction and direct those engineers that are more junior. Ensures that systems are implemented in a tight time frame and within budget. The core hours shall be 9:00AM - 3:00PM PST. Weekend or after-hours support may be required for operational issues, deployments and critical activities.

Additional duties shall include but are not limited to the following:

  • 30-40% CONUS travel is required in support of mission.
  • Evaluate data centers for the installation of equipment.
  • Install applicable equipment (with racks if needed)
  • Perform onsite testing of equipment and coordinate with other engineers.
  • Install and connect applicable cables.
  • Coordinate pick-up and delivery of equipment
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
  • Add/remove physical connectivity to various networks for users.
  • Perform physical setup and configuration of desktop hardware and software to include external peripherals.
  • Develop solutions to technical issues with hardware and software in multiple areas or disciplines.
  • Build workstations per established procedures.
  • Provide software and hardware support.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must have a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field and at least 12 years of experience OR a Masters and at least 10 years of experience ; or if no degree, 15+ years of related experience performing engineering functions on programs of similar size, scope, and complexity.
  • Must have an active TS/SCI with poly
  • 12+ years as an engineer supporting technical programs
  • Experience in IP Related Services: TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, PPP, and SIP
  • Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches
  • Experience with commercial PBX and associated telephones, VOIP/data telephony
  • Experience with UPS systems and AC/DC power systems, to include installation/connection Working knowledge of CAT 5 and CAT 6 cable, connectors, and demonstrated capability of fabricating required equipment
  • Experience working with SONET rings and associated hardware Experience using Remedy, VISIO, and MS Office

Pay Range:

Pay Range $126,100.00 - $227,950.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
