Description

The Leidos Health & Civil Sector is seeking a Sr Software Tester to support a state Medicaid program that will assist the State in modernizing Medicaid Enterprise System architecture with a modular System Integration Platform (SIP) that provides flexible system integration services. The ideal candidate must be a strong technical tester with expertise in executing software testing activities, energetic and self-motivated, and with a value-driven and customer-centric mindset.

Role is fully remote. Candidate MUST be located in the United States and be a US Citizen or US person.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participates as a member of the software test team to ensure validation and verification of custom and COTS applications and integration platform.
  • Develops and executes test cases to ensure the quality of software applications, infrastructure, and systems meet requirements.
  • Identifies, documents, and reports defects, issues, and risks related to software applications, infrastructure, and systems.
  • Manages the requirements traceability matrix to ensure testing coverage for all applications.
  • Coordinates with customer for user acceptance testing (UAT) plan and execution.
  • Provides testing status, progress, and forecasts to PM and customer on periodic basis.
  • Collaborates with development and operations teams to prioritize and resolve defects and issues, ensuring timely resolution and high-quality product releases.
  • Applies testing tools, techniques, and methodologies to improve test coverage, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Automates test cases to include them in the regression tests.
  • Provides testing support and guidance to other team members, as needed.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and 8 years of related experience. (4 additional years of experience considered in lieu of degree)

  • Experience developing Testing cases, that includes system testing, user acceptance testing, security testing, performance testing, data conversion testing, interface testing, regression testing, and operational readiness.
  • Experience developing and executing end to end tests spanning the whole system from front end to backend services including GUI, APIs, Web Services, and integration flows for custom and COTS applications.
  • Experience in testing tools and technologies including Playwright (automation), JMeter (performance), Postman/SOAPUI (API Testing), 508 compliance - JAWS, WAVE, ZOOM, CCA
  • Excellent understanding of the Testing Lifecycle and the different types of testing such as Functional, Integration, UAT, Accessibility, Security, and Performance Testing.
  • Expertise in working with Xpaths, XML and JSON formats.
  • Knowledge of negative testing concepts and risk assessment reporting
  • Hands on experience with documentation tools such as SharePoint and Confluence
  • Experience with software development tracking tools (such as Azure DevOps, or JIRA)
  • Knowledge of modern testing best practices, tools, techniques
  • Excellent communication and written skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to those who have Experience with Medicaid Management Information System implementations


  • Experience with Section 508 testing tools, scanning, and recovery
  • Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as FHIR, HL7, and IHE
  • Knowledge of automated security testing with SonarQube/BurpSuite (SAST/DAST) etc.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
