Description

Leidos is seeking a Sr. Manufacturing Engineering Manager to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. Location for work is Huntsville, Alabama. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sr ME Manager to lead a small team of ME Managers and individual system experts to support manufacturing and drive standardization across ME teams at five manufacturing sites.

Primary Responsibilities

This position will lead the team that oversees all manufacturing engineering activities, which include: securing tooling and capital equipment, creating process plans and work instructions, maintaining mBOM's and part routings, while driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement activities.

This is a key position in the growing defense segment that includes several types of processes: machining, welding, PCBA, cable assembly, clean rooms, painting, final assembly integration and testing.

As a leader across several production sites, it's critical to develop standard processes, consistent KPI's and network connections to share best practices at all levels of the enterprise.

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate will have a BS degree in engineering from an accredited university and have at least 8 years manufacturing engineering experience.
  • Four (4) years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, as well as PLM and MES software.
  • Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.
  • Ability to lead others and work in a collaborative working environment across multiple sites and with multiple organizational levels.
  • Experience working in multiple phases of the product life cycle to include prototyping, design and development, and full release to production.
  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or MS degree.
  • Lean manufacturing experience with Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience implementing IIoT and Industry 4.0 technology.
  • Proven track record of process mapping and policy creation to drive standards that increase throughput, engages the workforce in adopting change, reduces waste, and improves quality.
  • Experience with SCADA software and/or MS Power BI dashboards with the ability to write queries using data from external database sources.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00
