Join 1901 Group (A Leidos Company) in an exciting role based in Southwest Virginia, with opportunities to work remotely.

Position Summary:

We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer to support and modernize cloud-based applications for the ATF contract. This role involves working on major feature enhancements for migrated applications, as well as providing production support, testing, deployment, and release management-all while utilizing DevSecOps processes to ensure efficient and secure delivery.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Following your onboarding and integration into the team, you will collaborate with a group of experienced software developers, engineers, and QA analysts to deliver tailored solutions for federal and commercial clients.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, and release of key features for large-scale custom software projects, ensuring they meet client specifications.
  • Develop core functionality for existing systems, create and execute unit tests, and support the deployment of new software to the user community.
  • Diagnose, analyze, and resolve software bugs using industry-standard practices and approved procedures.
  • Work on prioritized tasks from implementation through testing and deployment within each Agile sprint cycle.
  • Collaborate with software developers, QA analysts, operations teams, supervisors, and clients to ensure project success.
  • Provide technical expertise, effort estimations, progress updates, and risk mitigation strategies to team leads, ensuring smooth development operations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2+ year of experience or a Master's degree with less then 2 years of experience developing and supporting software applications
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, Bash, etc., with hands-on experience applying them in real-world scenarios.
  • Strong experience with modern frameworks and libraries, including React, Angular, Node.js, and Java EE.
  • Deep understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, AJAX, XHTML, and SOAP for building scalable web services.
  • Solid working knowledge of relational databases, database design, data modeling, and proficiency in SQL.
  • Ability to research and troubleshoot technical issues, providing clear, actionable resolutions.
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies, including active participation in sprints and collaborative workflows.
  • Previous experience conducting code reviews to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance (which includes three years of immediate residency in the US).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with cloud technology environments
  • Experience with UI/UX design involving technologies such as HTML5, JavaScript ES6, Redux, CSS, Material Design, WebSockets
  • Design and development of web services experience
  • Previous cross browser development experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $65,000.00 - $117,500.00

Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
