More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Software Engineer to support SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT) program, the Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant costs by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support the full lifecycle of multiple systems including COTS software systems, custom developed software systems, and custom developed software applications.

What You'll Get to Do:
• Product Owner supporting custom applications to prioritize and guide the development and implementation of reliability-focused features, tooling, and processes.
• Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve our software and COTS deliverables.
• Reverse engineering custom applications into existing tools to eliminate infrastructure footprint.
• Work STIG remediations/Government Directed Actions (GDA)/Orchestrator updates.
• Help build, manage, and mentor multi-disciplined teams executing Agile and DevSecOps processes using best-of-breed tools.
• Cultivate a culture of innovation and promote collaboration across teams and projects.
• Help manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 8-12 years of software engineering experience.
• Must be a US Citizen and active DoD Secret Clearance.
• Experience with multiple programming languages and software development frameworks.
• Experience designing, developing, testing, and delivering complex software systems into production.
• Strong understanding of modern software design patterns, coding standards, and security standards.
• Working knowledge of Agile development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery methodologies and tools.
• Experience with a version control system (e.g., Git).
• Experience with an issue/problem tracking system (e.g., Jira).
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Interest and ability to learn new programming languages, tools, frameworks, and techniques.
• Ability to multi-task, and self-assign work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership.
• Experience collaborating with others to resolve complex technical issues.
• Certifications:
-Security+
-ITIL.
• Travel may be required.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Previous work experience providing support to the NGEN-NMCI program is highly desired.
• Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Ability to work on site with SIPR Access.
• Previous people leadership and mentoring experience.
• Experience with Automated Unit Testing and Automated Integration Testing.
• Experience with Agile management tools such as Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery tools such as Jenkins, SonarQube, PyTest, Terraform, Docker, Ansible.
• Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Experience with programming languages and technologies such as Python, SQL, XML, XSD, JSONSchema, REST, Java, Glassfish, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, IIS, VisualBasic, Excel, Access, .Net, C#.
• Experience with COTS tools including:
-tool evaluation and analysis,
-tool configuration and glue code,
-tool login/authentication/authorization.
• Experience implementing Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).
• Experience leading multi-disciplined technical project teams and setting the technical direction.
• Experience working in DoD networks/environments.
• Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
• Advanced/Professional level vendor certifications (Azure).
• ITILv4 and Agile SAFe certifications or applicable experience.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
