Position Overview:
Leidos is spearheading the Digital Transformation initiative at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) at Fort Belvoir, VA. We are currently seeking a highly motivated full-time Senior Network Engineer with proven skills in deploying and managing large, distributed network environments. The engineer will be part of a dynamic team responsible for translating customer requirements into highly scalable, redundant and secure solutions utilizing industry's best practices.

• Serves as senior engineer for a 4000+ user multi-forest active directory environment, utilizing Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
• The engineer will plan, support, implement and document engineering solutions to meet customer requirements autonomously with minimal oversight and direction.
• The engineer will be tasked with working with all IT support teams to ensure that requirements are accurately identified and executed in delivered solutions.
• Will serve as the subject matter expert for deployed solutions, developing skillsets within the operations team to facilitate a complete transition for day to day operations and maintenance, while serving as a Tier 4 escalation point.
• Will provide all documentation for developed solutions, including Technical Implementation Plans (TIPs), Work Instructions, As-Built documents and transition documentation.

• Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience or Master's degree with 10+ years of experience, additional years of relavent experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced level understanding of Microsoft Server in Active Directory environments.
• Specific understanding deploying Active Directory utilizing the Server Core deployment, with ability to support it as such utilizing Microsoft provided toolsets.
• Thorough understanding of Windows basic networking services, to include DNS, DHCP, sites and services.
• Thorough understanding of DoD server and application hardening processes including ACAS remediation and STIG checklists.
• 10 or more years' experience supporting Microsoft Windows servers.
• 10 or more years' experience supporting Active Directory environments.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to be able to effectively document solutions and obtain requirements from customers.
• MCSE or an equivalent Professional level Microsoft Certification.
• CompTIA Security+CE or equivalent (DoD 8570 IAT level II).

• PowerShell scripting expertise, to automate workflows and collection of data.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) level experience in one or more Microsoft back office technologies (SQL Server, IIS, Exchange Server, etc).
• Working knowledge of L2/L3 network concepts.
• Expertise in F5 BigIP technology, Global Traffic Management, Local Traffic Management, and/or Application Policy Management.
• Master's Degree in an Information Technology Discipline.
• ITIL 4 Foundations certification.
• Familiarity with container operation, automation, orchestration and security concepts and technologies to include Git, Kubernetes, Rancher, Prisma Cloud, and similar technologies.
