The Digital Modernization Sector currently has an opening for a Project Manager Intern to work in support of the Air Force National Capital Region IT Services (AFNCR ITS) program.
The Project Manager Intern will work with our customer's, project managers, internal task or functional staff, and support personnel to execute the AFNCR ITS Program Mission. The successful candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination of efforts. The candidate will be accountable for prioritizing, planning, organizing, training, assessing, and managing resources to ensure that projects are executed within scope and time constraints. While part of a team environment, the PM Intern will also work individually and may assist other team members on moderately complex projects, tasks, or assignments.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure successful project completion.
- Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, sending reminders, and preparing meeting agendas to facilitate effective communication among project team members.
- Track project progress by updating project management software and tools, ensuring milestones are met on schedule.
- Compile and organize project documentation, ensuring all necessary materials are accessible for team members and stakeholders.
- Conduct risk assessments for projects to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support the project manager in liaising with external vendors and stakeholders to maintain communication and project alignment.
- Analyze project data to prepare reports on project status, performance, and outcomes for internal review and stakeholder updates.
- Participate in quality assurance processes by reviewing project deliverables and providing feedback to ensure they meet specified standards and requirements.
- Monitors and tracks project dependencies.
- Create a work breakdown structure that defines all activities required for the project deliverables.
- Actively monitor, track, and manage project tasks, timelines, attainment of established milestones and overall quality of project activities and deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, or an IT related field.
- Coursework often includes project planning, risk management, finance, and leadership. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are honed through classes in statistics, business communication, and strategic management.
- Electives may cover specialized areas like software project management or international business to broaden the intern's skill set and adaptability in diverse project environments.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
- US citizenship required.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $38,350.00 - $69,325.00
