The National Security Sector at Leidos is hiring for an Operations Research Analyst (ORA) to work in Dayton, OH (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base / WPAFB). As an Operations Research Analyst for Leidos you will be responsible for a wide variety of detailed operational research responsibilities in area of expertise for relatively large and/or complex programs, operations, or proposals. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award which is expected to be announced this month!

What you'll be doing:

  • Participate in analysis and evaluations of capabilities and operational concepts to identify technology feasibility, operational viability, cost impacts, and more.
  • Assess, prepare, and provide mission short and long-range goals, objectives, and initiatives to be presented to senior leadership.
  • May prepare internal and external communications and notes and/or after-action summaries, track actions items, and making recommendations on response for closure.
  • Design and execute studies in accordance with program goals and senior guidance.
  • Create, compose, consolidate, and review documentation, e.g., correspondence, briefings, response to inquiries, and talking points for correctness, format, spelling, and grammar before sending out for approval or signature.
  • Assist with special projects where multiple functions are involved, coordinating actions, clarifying responsibilities and timelines for completion, consolidating data, and review to ensure accomplishment of objectives, timeliness, and acceptability.
  • Use professional concepts to contribute to development of company concepts and principles.
  • Work on complex problems, exercise independent judgment, and act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise the activities of lower level personnel.
  • Analysis and evaluation of military operations in modeling and simulation events.
  • Frequently concentrate on collecting and analyzing data as well as defining data requirements for concise and comprehensive reporting of data results to various customers.
  • Review the analysis results of other analysts to ensure consistency across all modeling and simulation efforts. Involved in identifying indications of system performance and corrective measures that need to be taken.
  • Create, conduct, design and evaluate experimental operational models where insufficient data exists to formulate results with the given information.
  • Identify inefficiencies in current processes and systems through operational research methods.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and translate them into analytical solutions.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Active Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required. Must be U.S. Citizen.
  • Bachelor's degree in degree in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
  • Three years of related experience.
  • Experience in operations research, data analysis, and/or mathematical modeling.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis.

Favorable if you have:

  • Five years of related experience.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
