Medical Planning & Development Manager
Programme Name: LCST
Location: Emersons Green, Bristol/Hybrid
Duration: this role is a 14 month fixed term contract
Role Overview:
We're seeking a collaborative Medical Planning and Development Manager to lead our dynamic Planning and Development team within the Defence Medical Supply Chain.
This role is ideal for a professional with diverse expertise in change management, project management, and continuous improvement. You'll be able to navigate complex supply chain challenges while utilising Office 365 applications to drive data-informed decisions.

- Guide team members in developing and maintaining the Monthly Medical Dashboard
- Support the team in maintaining the quality of the Medical Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Create a collaborative learning environment through workshops that transform operational challenges into improvement opportunities
- Develop and implement standards for operational improvements that enhance user experience
- Foster data quality processes that ensure accuracy and reliability
- Present insightful, data-driven briefings to senior Defence Medical Services leadership
- Communicate complex supply chain analytics clearly to senior military and civilian stakeholders
- Facilitate cross-functional collaboration meetings to address systemic issues
- Provide guidance on medical capability risk submissions for senior leadership review
Key Projects You'll Deliver:
- Comprehensive view of medical activities, including Programme milestones and dependencies
- Medical Risk Register with supporting processes
- Monthly Medical Performance Dashboard with meaningful metrics
- Active Learning System for implementing operational improvements
- Integrated Issue Management Process for resolving supply chain challenges

Desired Skills:
- Change Management: Experience with implementing change processes in complex environments
- Project Management: APM PMQ training or equivalent experience with project management methodologies
- Continuous Improvement: Knowledge of DMAIC methodology and Lean Six Sigma tools for problem-solving
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Office 365 applications for data analysis and reporting
- Supply Chain Knowledge: Understanding of supply chain operations and ability to translate requirements into actionable insights
- Adaptability: Comfort with varied situations and applying diverse skills across different areas

The Logistics Commodities & Services Transformation (LCST) Programme for the UK Ministry of Defence is a critical effort to enhance and improve the UK's defence supply chain. The programme provides essential services such as storage and distribution for the MOD's materiel, including a global freight service and the procurement and inventory management of 70,000 commodity NATO Stock Number (NSNs).
