Leidos is searching for a highly motivated Field Engineer to support a government customer's IT environment. The Civil IT Leidos team will be responsible for maintaining the customer's existing environment and modernizing its IT systems, while ensuring continuity of mission operations.

This position will be based in Alexandria, VA.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install and configure hardware, software, and network components, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and other IT equipment at various sites.
  • Deploy and set up new systems or upgrades according to established procedures and best practices
  • Perform system administration tasks such as user account management, access control, permissions management, and system backups
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, analyze network traffic, and implement solutions to optimize network performance and security
  • Work in team environments that use agile methodologies
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks, such as hardware inspections, firmware updates, and component replacements, to prevent system failures and ensure uptime
  • Diagnose and repair hardware faults or failures, coordinating with vendors for warranty repairs or replacements as needed
  • Provide technical support for software applications and operating systems, troubleshooting issues, and resolving user problems
  • Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Generate reports and service requests for management review and analysis
  • Provide technical assistance and support to end-users, addressing IT-related issues and inquiries via phone, email, or in person
  • Conduct user training sessions to educate employees on IT systems, software applications, and best practices
  • Investigate root causes of problems, implement corrective actions, and document resolutions to prevent recurrence
  • Collaborate with other Product Teams, vendors, and stakeholders to coordinate projects, resolve issues, and implement changes
  • Perform in a supervisory capacity as needed
  • Installation, setup, configuration and maintenance of IT devices including desktop PCs, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance
  • BA/BS degree and 4+ years of IT experience
  • Hands on experience working in an operational environment
  • Windows Server Administration experience
  • Backup & Recovery experience
  • System Deployment experience (hardware and software)
  • Microsoft Office 365

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience maintaining systems/applications in a cloud environment
  • Experience supporting the USPTO customer
  • Microsoft Intune experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $68,900.00 - $124,550.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
