Primary Responsibilities
As an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical system designs. You will analyze, design and integrate solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges.
You will primarily be focused on electrical design and integration for the Enduring Shield ground based force protection system, but there are also opportunities to participate in design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for other mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.
Typical Responsibilities Include:
- System level electrical design including cable design specification and cable drawings
- Parts selection and derating activities
- New hardware design verification testing
- Support system level integration activities
- STE (Special Test Equipment) design and assembly
- Radar system development.
- High Power Microwave system development.
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with 8+ years of experience or 6+ years with MS degree.
- Candidate must have experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation.
- Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
- Experience with special test equipment design/architecture to facilitate production testing of MIL rated components.
- Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug/test methods.
- Cable design experience in Visio or Excel.
- Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with radar front-end and back-end architecture, design, and testing Familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 class 3 and IPC J-STD-001 Standards.
- Experience with RF path design, link budget analysis, noise figure, insertion loss, and signal purity calculations.
- Familiarity with mil-spec component selection.
- Familiarity with AS50881 NASA Derating Standard
- Cable design experience using SolidWorks Electrical, Creo Schematic, Draftsight

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
