The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is currently pursuing an opportunity for a Configuration Management Specialist to work in the Washington DC/Baltimore area. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping the mission for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) services. In this mission we are focused on providing innovative, data-driven solutions and enterprise architecture enhancements to enable seamless operations across CMS's global network. The program emphasizes rapid development and deployment of technologies to enhance the mobility and readiness of functional scenarios. Key tasks include change management, process adherence and improvement, training support, and technology integration to maintain the operational edge for the Managed Infrastructure Services Provider (MiSP) Program. The MiSP program underscores agility and adaptability, ensuring technical and operational professionals have access to the information and tools they need to meet evolving mission requirements.

Primary Responsibilities.
- Establish and maintain CM processes, standards, and tools to manage program assets, documentation, and system configurations.
- Ensure adherence to established customer and industry best practices for configuration management, supporting program objectives and customer requirements.
- Define, document, and manage configuration baselines for software, hardware, and system components throughout the lifecycle.
- Oversee and validate changes to baselines, ensuring all modifications are properly evaluated, approved, and documented.
- Facilitate the Change Control Board (CCB) process by coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, and ensuring traceability of decisions.
- Conduct regular configuration audits to verify accuracy, consistency, and compliance with program requirements.
- Prepare and present configuration status reports to program leadership, identifying potential risks or discrepancies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, engineers, and program management, to ensure effective configuration management practices.
- Maintain comprehensive CM documentation, including configuration plans, asset inventories, and process workflows.
- Utilize CM tools and software (e.g., Git, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar) to track and control configurations effectively.
- Train team members on the use of CM tools and practices to ensure consistency and compliance.
Basic Qualifications.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Additional training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Must possess one of the following certifications, such as Certified Configuration Manager (CCM), ITIL Foundation, or CompTIA Security+.
- 4-7 years of experience in configuration management, asset management, or related roles.
- Proven ability to manage configuration baselines and facilitate change control processes in complex environments.
- Proficiency with CM tools and platforms, such as Git, Jira, ServiceNow, or other relevant software.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycles (SDLC), system engineering processes, and Agile/DevSecOps methodologies.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to document CM processes and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams to align CM practices with program goals.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.
- All candidates supporting the CMS programs must have lived in the United States at least three (3) out of the last five (5) years prior in order to be considered
Preferred Qualifications.
- Master's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Advanced certifications in configuration or change management, such as CMII or ITIL Practitioner, are advantageous.
- Previous experience supporting government programs with strict compliance and reporting requirements.
- Experience managing configuration baselines across hybrid cloud, on-premise, and containerized environments.
- Proven ability to conduct comprehensive configuration audits and present findings to program leadership.
- Experience with developing dashboards and automated reporting for CM metrics and status updates.
- Strong ability to identify inefficiencies in CM processes and implement enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience developing and refining CM plans, workflows, and standard operating procedures.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00
