Description

Leidos Digital Modernization group is seeking a Chief of Staff to support the HEITS program in Lorton, VA.

This position requires a person with initiative, determination, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills who is able to work independently to navigate the challenges associated with operating in large organizations. Versatility is another important characteristic needed because daily tasks may pivot between purely administrative to process or problem-solving areas as we constantly seek to improve front office efficiency to better support the projects and staff. Other necessary skills include interpersonal communications, writing, and task management, which are foundational in helping support a diverse team of acquisition and engineering professionals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage internal processes, document procedures, and recommend/initiate process improvements
  • Manage manpower and resource staffing actions across program
  • Manage seating desk/office assignments
  • Manage interactions and relationships with subcontract companies supporting program
  • Coordinate and/or facilitate meetings as requested by PM/DPM
  • Serve as office weekly activity report coordinator
  • Serve as office awards nomination coordinator
  • Draft and review briefs, correspondence, and other deliverables
  • Assist the PM in tracking, managing, and executing action items
  • Support the coordination of staff morale events

Tasks Include:

  • Create and maintain the program staff repository to include key data pertaining to all staff members
  • Arrange and facilitate technical exchanges, senior staff coordination meetings, program reviews, and other program meetings on behalf of leadership
  • Manage updates to the program organization chart
  • Establish and maintain an office welcome packet and coordinate new hire orientation
  • Establish/maintain a process for all program inbound/outbound personnel
  • Manage, coordinate, and edit program award nominations
  • Establish and manage office action item tracking system. Brief status at the weekly staff meeting
  • Assist senior leadership in managing and promulgating communications, policies and directives
  • Ensure e-mail distribution groups are optimized, accurate, and updated
  • Support PM/DPM ad hoc tasks and report status to leadership

Basic Qualifications

  • BA degree and 8 - 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 - 10 years of prior relevant experience
  • US Citizenship required; Active Top Secret government security clearance required and be willing to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI government clearance.

  • Prior staffing management experience
  • Prior process improvement experience in complex organizations
  • Prior experience using automated tools that made efficiency impacts on an organization

Pay Range:

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
