Leidos is seeking an experienced Architecture and Engineering Manager to lead the design and implementation of our managed enterprise IT data center and cloud services. This role will oversee a team of architects and engineers with a focus on operational process automation, ensuring that our data center and cloud services meet strategic objectives and business demands while remaining secure, scalable, and efficient.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Architectural Leadership: Design and oversee the architecture of IT infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, networking, and cloud solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and industry best practices.
  • Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of infrastructure architects and engineers, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Infrastructure Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive data center and cloud infrastructure strategy that supports current and future business needs, including scalability, performance optimization, and reliability.
  • Project Management: Support infrastructure projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budget, and alignment with technical requirements.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to evaluate technologies, negotiate contracts, and ensure quality service delivery.
  • Security and Compliance: Design and engineer security measures and compliance protocols to protect infrastructure assets and sensitive data, keeping current with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Performance Monitoring: Design metrics and KPIs to monitor infrastructure performance, analyzing data to identify trends and optimize resource utilization.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity designs for hybrid-cloud environments, ensuring resilience in the face of disruptions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including application development, data center and cloud operations, network and security, to ensure seamless integration and support for business applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure architecture and engineering, with a strong understanding of enterprise-level systems.
  • Proven experience managing teams and leading complex infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of networking, server architectures, storage solutions, and cloud technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of interacting with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Familiarity with ITIL, Agile methodologies, and architecture & project management frameworks (e.g. TOGAF, ISO, PMP).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect.
  • Experience with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is a plus.
  • 5+ years of infrastructure operations experience across multiple disciplines (OS, hypervisor, storage) with competent understanding of hybrid cloud service operations
  • General understanding of ITSM processes and experience with agile methodologies like Scrum, Kanban, SAFe using technologies like Jira or ServiceNow
  • General understanding of DevSecOps concepts and Site Reliability Engineering with IaC automation experience

Pay Range:

Pay Range $122,200.00 - $220,900.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
