Description
The Missiles & Aviation Solutions Division, within the Leidos Defense Sector, has an opportunity for an Applied Aerodynamics Engineer to work at our Huntsville, AL campus supporting a variety of flight vehicle programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Perform aerodynamic design, analysis, and test of flight vehicles. Lead vehicle design trade studies, performance assessments, testing, and development of high-fidelity aerodynamic characterizations.
Applicant will be required to work within a multi-disciplinary team of aerospace, mechanical, electrical, guidance & control, and modeling & simulation engineers to develop flight vehicle designs.

- MS degree in Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering.
- 10+ years of direct applicable experience.
- Experience in programming languages such as Python and Matlab.
- Extensive knowledge of aerodynamic prediction tools (engineering-level to computational), aerodynamic modeling techniques for subsonic to hypersonic flight regimes, and wind tunnel test planning/coordination/conduct.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experience working on multi-disciplinary team design teams.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Computational fluid dynamics experience.
- Experience leading wind tunnel test programs from requirements definition and hardware design/fabrication through test execution and post-test data analysis and documentation.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00
