If so, a position as a Sample Processing Team Lead within our animal house team at Harrogate, North Yorkshire could be the role for you.
In this lab based position, you will:-
- Ensure that all procedures in the Sample Processing Group are performed in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and specifically those regulations (GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)) specified in the study plans, protocols, or work agreements.
- Provide day to day operational support for the team
- Deputise for Sample Processing Supervisor in relation to sample activities, client queries and team performance
- Support the collection of data for metrics
- Training/mentorship of junior members within the Sample Processing team
- Identifying and resolving process improvements
- Perform any combination of sample preparation tasks, including centrifugation, pipetting, and addition of reagents.
- Handle incoming samples from Animal House Operations, Necropsy and Pharmacology.
- Be able to exercise judgment in the receipt of samples where discrepancies have occurred, highlighting to responsible personnel, or resolving as they occur.
- Plan individual workload in collaboration with team members so that deadlines are met.
- Demonstrate a knowledge and use of data systems - Nautilus, CMS (Covance Management System) etc
- Demonstrate effective communication skills and liaison with Technical Leads, Supervisors, Study Directors, and other members of staff within the department and from other departments.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a minimum of 5 GCSE'S A*-C including English and Maths
- Have previous practical laboratory experience in a similar environment
- Ideally have leadership experience in a similar role
- Have good communication skills and an ability to work within appropriate company procedures
- Have the ability to utilise word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and specialised software on personal computers.
