Samlink's Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a strategic member of the executive team, responsible for defining and driving the company's technology vision and innovation roadmap. The CTO will be accountable for leading a team to architect a robust, scalable technology infrastructure that supports business growth, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This senior leadership role demands a visionary architect who can shape the organization's technological future, influence cross-functional teams, and inspire a culture of excellence across operations in Finland and the Nordics.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Technology and Architectural Vision

  • Visionary Technology Strategy: Develop and communicate a progressive, long-term technology strategy that aligns with corporate objectives, anticipates future needs, and establishes a competitive edge.
  • Architectural Leadership: Design and oversee the implementation of a high-level technology architecture that supports scalability, security, and resilience. Ensure alignment between the company's architectural frameworks and its business goals, enabling the organization to adapt swiftly to market changes and customer's needs.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Work closely with senior leadership across sales, development, operations, and finance to integrate technology and architectural goals with broader business strategies.

Innovation and Product Enhancement

  • Advanced Solution Design: Spearhead the evaluation and integration of emerging technologies that enhance product offerings, customer experiences, and operational efficiencies. Guide the development of banking platform solutions that are customer-centric, flexible, and adaptable to future needs.
  • Architectural Roadmap for Competitive Differentiation: Architect innovative technology solutions that set the company apart from competitors, ensuring the architecture is optimized for performance and adaptability.
  • Continuous Learning and Innovation: Stay informed of the latest technological and architectural advancements to guide the evolution of the company's IT assets and maintain a future-ready position.

Customer Engagement

  • Collaboration: Work closely with current and prospective customers to understand their needs, provide technological solutions, and ensure satisfaction. Foster strong relationships to support business growth and customer retention. The customer interactions are embedded into the strategy: with a good understanding of (1) market trends (2) corporate objectives, and (3) our customer's requirements.
  • Kyndryl Alignment: Cooperate with broader Kyndryl accounts, guilds and practices to enhance and promote Samlink's capabilities and offerings as well as support local teams with customer engagements.

Executive Oversight of IT and Digital Architecture

  • Architecture Team Leadership: Lead a high-performing IT team, fostering alignment with strategic business objectives and encouraging a culture of innovation and excellence. Oversee the recruitment, development, and mentorship of architects and solutioners, with an emphasis on building a resilient and agile banking infrastructure.
  • Operational Architecture & Portfolio Management: Define and oversee high-level metrics for Samlink's IT system portfolio. Ensure all platform components are harmonized to support operational demands and adaptation of regulatory requirements across target regions.
  • Security and Compliance by Design: Support and guide 1st line of defence by embedding robust security measures and compliance frameworks into all layers of the technology architecture to safeguard data, enhance cybersecurity posture, and mitigate risks.

Who You Are

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience in senior technology and architectural leadership roles, with a successful track record as a CTO or similar executive role.
  • Expertise in developing and executing transformative technology and architectural strategies that align with corporate goals and drive business growth.
  • Exceptional ability to lead and mentor diverse, cross-functional teams, including global architects and IT leaders.
  • Proven experience in building secure, scalable, and resilient architectural frameworks and solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking frameworks, tools, and products as well as a good understanding of the FSI market trends, especially in the Nordics.
  • Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Proficiency in English language.

Preferred skills and expertise:

  • Proficiency in the Finnish language.
  • Extensive background in the banking industry.
  • Willingness to travel 3 to 5 days per month.
