The Role
Are you ready to embark on a technical adventure and become a hero to our external and internal users? As Technical Support at Kyndryl, you'll be part of an elite team that provides exceptional technical assistance, enabling our clients to achieve their desired business outcomes.
As Technical Support, you'll perform varying degrees of problem determination and resolution of desktop hardware and software issues using your technical expertise and available resources to ensure that our customers' issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. You'll also have the opportunity to perform installs, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC) activities, as well as data backup and restore on certain accounts for clients, ensuring that all related administrative duties are completed within Service Level Agreement objectives. You will develop a deep understanding of the local and regional infrastructure, as well as key contacts in other competencies, which will enable you to ensure that the proper team is aware of - and taking action on the problem. Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluation and utilization of software products to assist in the management of data.
- Planning, installation, and maintenance of DBMS software.
- Support/recommend reporting, query and analysis tools ensuring efficient database access
- Diagnosis of problems and resolution for application software.
- Measurement of DBMS performance and tuning; diagnosis of problems.
- Modification of system-level configuration to optimize performance.
- Interface with developers for performance and data access requirements.
- Development of standards and procedures for the DBMS environment.
- Consultation with system administrator regarding O/S - DBMS requirements.
- Maintenance of physical integrity of all production databases.
- Regularly scheduled verification procedures and error correction.
- Stay current with new database technology developments and techniques, research new software and tools, proactively recommend improvements

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Minimum of 5-7 years for experience with db2 database design, Installation, Upgrade, Patching, administration and maintenance in distributed environments.
- Strong hands-on exp on most of the DB2 database versions and its features.
- Strong DB2 Database Administration and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience in migrations and upgrade of database in heterogeneous platform.
- Strong hands-on exp on of DB2 Utilities like Load/Explain/Reorg/Runstats/db2top/db2advis/db2icrt/etc.
- Strong hands-on exp on upgrading in-place and out of place upgrades.
- Exp upgrading from db2 8.0 to latest 11.5 pure scale and non-purescale.
- Experience on upgrading db2 9.7.400.501 to 11.5 on windows 2008R2 Enterprise
- Experience rollback, downgrade in case of upgrade and patch failures,
- Strong experience in SQL Performance tuning as per application requirement.
- Experience in DB2 Database Administration on various OS including LUW like RHEL, AIX, Z/os, Windows(2008/2012), Linux etc.
- Candidate should be well versed with recent new db2 features and suggesting client accordingly.
- Very strong experience in applying install fix packs, interim fix packs.
- Hands on exp in HACMP/HADR backup/restore, replication and Import/Export and ingest utility and cloning.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Extensive experience in TSM Infrastructure. Knowledge on Storage and Network configuration.
- Ability to solve HA issues related to HADR, MQ Series, and Replication methods.
- Experience in setting up monitoring as per best practice for databases, experience in unix scripting, to fix or automate repetitive activities
- Additional databases experience like oracle, postgres, mssql, mysql more advantage.
exp in dev-ops- tooling would be handy, some experience of git, Jenkins, Docker
