The Role

As an Application/Software Architect, you'll be responsible for designing cutting-edge software frameworks, systems, and products that will set the standard for the industry. You'll use your extensive technical knowledge to conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes, while also identifying and resolving any framework design weaknesses.

You'll use your technical expertise to provide technical leadership to the application development team, perform design and code reviews, and ensure that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained. You'll also collaborate with other stakeholders to ensure that the architecture is aligned with business requirements, making sure that the project meets its goals.
Your expertise in designing major aspects of the architecture of an application, including components such as user interface, middleware, and infrastructure, will be put to use as you create and maintain documentation surrounding the software architecture, application design processes, component integration, testing guidelines, and other key elements.

Through this role as Application Architect you will be:

  • Leading architecture design, integration planning, and PoC initiatives, collaborating with lead architects, and facilitating the Architecture Control Board.
  • Partnering with business leaders, translating strategic objectives into technical solutions, and engaging stakeholders to meet enterprise goals.
  • Designing and implementing Cloud Native, SOA, and Web Services solutions, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.
  • Driving Master Data Governance, data standardization, and quality management, and providing thought leadership in data processes and technology selection.
  • Developing and enforcing best practices in Full Stack Development, adopting low-code/no-code technologies, and understanding agile methodologies and software development lifecycles.

The salary range for this opportunity starts at 5000 EUR gross per month. The final salary offer reflects the set of skills and experience that selected candidates bring to the team.

Who You Are

Required Skills and Expertise

  • 10+ years in solution design, architecture planning, and enterprise application development.
  • Architectural experience of large customer change and transformation projects
  • In depth knowledge and experience of hardware and software including connectivity between platform.
  • Data Analytics/ML/AI
  • Extensive experience with Cloud Native Architecture, SOA, Business Intelligence, full stack development, architecture patterns, Clean Code practices, and familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms and traditional coding environments.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms (preferably Azure), microservices architecture, APIs, data management, Integration Platforms, Master Data Management, data quality solutions, and Graph data modeling and Knowledge Graph concepts.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex technical solutions and managing architectural strategies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred).

Preferred Skills and Expertise

  • The Open Group - Master Certified Architect (or equivalent)
  • Prior hands-on experience working in a Mainframe environment
  • Experience in the following types of Mainframe projects - Modernise On, Integrate With and Move Off
  • Strong understanding of z/OS and IBM Software Products as well as 3rd party Mainframe software
