JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead a team responsible for the daily accounting activities within specific areas of the Regional Accounting Service Center (RASC). Achieve accurate, timely and efficient accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and company policies. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead team in the preparation of financial statements, analysis, and entries to properly record financial activities
- Determine progress towards objectives, provide guidance for improving organizational profitability and financial position
- Support complete and accurate financial reporting and execution of all controls identified as key purposes of Sarbanes-Oxley

- Define and agree upon Service Level Agreements/Key Performance Indicators with stakeholders and manage performance
- Review account reconciliations on a quarterly basis (at minimum) and report problems to director
- File reports with corporate and government agencies accurately and timely
- Act as the subject matter expert on specific accounting processes for the company
- Oversee best practices for consolidation of accounting functions
- Develop a staff of promotable managers; assist in conducting training sessions
- Prepare and follow-up on all internal/external audits
- Develop a system of internal audit/inventory controls to ensure methods, procedures, and programs are used to provide control of expenses, accurate disbursement and accurate information
- Travel independently to other divisions for training and meetings
- Maintain confidentiality of conversations and documents
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports
- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree accounting or finance
- 7+ years of experience in accounting/finance or equivalent
- Ability to lead projects
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task
- Ability to take prompt action to accomplish objectives
- Ability to collect and use data to understand issues and use effective approaches to develop solutions
- Ability to build productive customer relationships
- Ability to maintain effectiveness when experiencing major changes in tasks or work environment
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and to work successfully with all associates
- Exceptional leadership skills; ability to motivate and develop a highly empowered team
- Excellent facilitation skills

Desired
- Master's Degree business administration or accounting
- Any Oracle experience
- Any regional or corporate accounting experience
- Any experience as corporate or division assistant controller
- CPA Certified Public Accountant
