Maintenance Forklift Mechanic

JOB DESCRIPTION

Maintain lift trucks and keep them in safe condition. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and encourage other associates to deliver excellent customer service
  • Perform preventative maintenance on lift trucks
  • Repair electric trucks
  • Repair other equipment, as needed
  • Perform welding
  • Maintain batteries in charged and working condition
  • Maintain elevated 60' lift truck (lansing), as well as tuggers, carts, propane lift trucks, propane system, and pallet jacks
  • Repair and maintain battery chargers
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) plus four years experience in electric forklift repair; or combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum 18 years of age
  • Ability to pass drug test
  • Knowledge of Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems and engine overhauls
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work weekends and overtime on an occasional basis
  • Ability to work any shift
  • Accuracy/attention to detail
  • Ability to organize/prioritize variety of tasks/projects
  • Familiarity with industry/technical terms and processes
  • Ability to work within set time frames/fixed deadlines
  • Ability to continue education
  • Ability to operate a forklift, electric cart, manlift, and basic hand tools
  • Limited Maintenance Industrial license
  • Forklift license

Desired
  • Knowledge of company policies, procedures, and organizational structure
