JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for processing Leave of Absence (LOA) requests that are received from associates. This position will work with the vendor, Division Human Resource departments, and Kroger associates on their LOA requests. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accurately input Leave of Absence for assigned divisions.
- Verify that all LOA forms and supporting documentation are completed accurately. Take appropriate action on requests that are not filled out appropriately.
- Check all LOA requests for compliance with federal and state laws, union contracts, HIPAA, and Company policies.
- Approve or deny LOA requests, based on the requests' compliance with Company policies and applicable laws.
- Work with the vendor handling medical LOA on any opportunities or issues.
- Communicate the status of LOA requests with associates requesting the leaves.
- Process and calculate Short Term Disability payments.
- Work with Kroger associates on payment options during "wait periods".
- Monitor the status of approved LOA's on a weekly basis.
- Respond to Leave of Absence and Short Term Disability questions from division and store associates.
- Work with other Human Resource Shared Services Center (HRSSC) departments and division HR departments on proper coding of LOA related tasks.

Desired
- General knowledge of Leave of Absence.
- Payroll experience, with knowledge of KERMIT or other payroll systems.
