JOB DESCRIPTION
Execute minor capital projects at the lowest cost and in the shortest time period consistent with the approved scope of work and appropriated funds. Assist in the preparation of fixture plans. Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages our customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department, and monitor all established quality assurance standards. - Operate as the Company's representative on assigned store projects.
- Provide timely and accurate information to contractors and vendors.
- Provide adequate documentation and records throughout the construction process.
- Ensure lowest possible cost to the Company for any changes ordered or caused by the Company after the plans have been finalized in accordance with thelease.
- Determine that the appropriate authorizations exist prior to incurring commitments for Company expenditures.
- Prepare timely requisitions for major equipment, fixtures, and supply items.
- Redline fixture plans as directed by Manager of Facility Engineering.
- Ensure that contractors perform in accordance with plans and specifications and are in compliance with applicable codes.
- Evaluate construction activity versus the schedule and anticipate problems that could impact the schedule.
- Prepare ROI on Capital Investments.
- Coordinate remodel activities in order to minimize sales and EBITDA loss.
- Redline fixture plans as directed by Manager of Facility Engineering, cover with requestor and submit to G.O.
- Job function requires exercising independent judgment on less complex tasks. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform thefunctions of the job and requires support for more complex tasks.
- Occasionally makes moderately significant decisions with close supervision.
- Helps to train other department members on less complicated tasks.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, architectural technical studies or computer technology
- Ability to read and understand construction documents
- Ability to lead contractors and retail management team through a project
- Ability to budget and organize construction activities and equipment orders
- Basic financial skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to lead retail management and contractors through a project through efficient scheduling and communication
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Experience in the construction and/or retail field
