The Senior Corporate Finance Business Partner (SFBP) is an integral member of our Corporate FP&A team, serving as a partner to executive leadership by helping ensure that new programs and initiatives are aligned with both near term and long term financial and strategic objectives.

As SFBP, you'll build partnerships with internal client, provide quality financial analysis and guidance on financial performance to executive leadership, evaluate financial performance across multiple areas, and provide excellent customer service for internal and external customers.

Finance Business Partners assist in ensuring financial targets are met by proactively finding solutions to implement operational strategies that improve financial results and maximize business opportunities. In addition to strong financial knowledge, the SFBP must have a demonstrated ability to build relationships, influence leaders and think strategically.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with NSC (National Support Center) leaders to develop & leverage their annual budgets and actuals performance to help ensure that they stay within budget and forecast and advise of any unsustainable performance trends impacting our overall strategy.
  • Through analytics, understand and actively communicate underlying causes of variances as well as present variance analyses to senior staff in a simple, concise and easy to consume format.
  • Work closely with Executive leaders in identifying, collaborating and evaluating business cases in support of KinderCare's short and long-range strategic goals and planning process.
  • Appropriately challenge leaders throughout the organization to think strategically about the way they structure their teams and allocate resources in pursuit of organizational strategic priorities, in partnership with their HR Business Partner.
  • Gain an understanding of the key strategic priorities of the organization with an understanding of the "bigger picture" and perform analysis to ensure company resources are allocated efficiently in support of those priorities. Includes identification of measures of success and value creation / ROI.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and critical thinking that can solve problems and create options for recommendations based on self-directed work efforts.
  • Drive successful completion on ad-hoc projects and financial modeling as required, in support of strategic initiatives and pre/post investment analytics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related field. MBA degree a plus.
  • 5+ years' experience in executing and/or supporting budget/LRP, forecast, and financial analysis.
  • Experience in a medium to large national, multi-brand company in a corporate/strategic business partner role preferred.
  • Experience in executing and supporting cross-functional strategic planning.
  • Experience supporting and influencing Corporate Executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to develop, build and understand complex financial models.
  • Proficient understanding of accounting principles and financial planning concepts.
  • Advanced level skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with quickly and efficiently gathering, manipulating and analyzing data from multiple sources via macros and/or alternative specialized functions and features a plus.
  • Experience working with and a strong understanding of financial reporting software a plus (specifically Workday, Anaplan, Adaptive software).
  • Experience creating PowerBI dashboards, a plus.
  • Strong problem solving, strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • High attention to detail, quality and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact with various levels of management and develop strong working relationships inside and outside of the department.
