Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director of eCommerce Technology with a strong Salesforce background to lead our eCommerce technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the technology strategy, development, implementation and support of our eCommerce platforms to enhance customer experience, increase sales, and optimize operational efficiency. This role requires a visionary leader with excellent technical skills, a deep understanding of eCommerce trends, and a proven history of working with Salesforce.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the Technology Solution Owner for all Ecommerce business capabilities.
  • Develop and execute the eCommerce technology strategy in alignment with the company's business objectives
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our eCommerce platforms remain competitive and innovative
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of Salesforce solutions to support eCommerce initiatives
  • Oversee the integration of Salesforce with other systems and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and functionality. Ensure eCommerce projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing eCommerce technology team, including developers and quality assurance engineers
  • Ensure the scalability, security, and reliability of eCommerce platforms and systems
  • Develop and manage the eCommerce technology budget, ensuring financial resources are allocated effectively and efficiently and identify areas for cost savings and investment.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment that encourages professional growth and development
Additional Job Responsibilities
  • Leverage data analytics to gain insights into customer behavior, sales trends, and platform performance
  • Lead meaningful transformation in a dynamic and rapidly growing business environment
  • Manage vendor relationships and performance to agreed-upon outcomes, leading contractual needs, ensuring proper delivery, availability, and reliability within operational and financial frameworks
  • Oversee the procurement of technology solutions and services, ensuring they meet business needs and budget constraints.
  • Oversee the development and maintenance of eCommerce technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, user guides, and SOPs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (ecomm business, marketing, sales, customer service) to enhance the online customer journey and drive conversion rates
  • Facilitate strategy development and communications between the business users and the technology team to understand changing business needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate with other IT solution owners in their provision of necessary services; including but not limited to Technical Infrastructure, eCommerce, Marketing, Retail, Data and Analytics, and IT Security
  • Assess application structure, functions, usage along with business processes and provide recommendations to continuously improve efficiency, systems quality and profitability using industry best practices
  • Support building out best practices and standardization of application management processes.
  • Align solutions to enterprise information security standards and processes, including data protection laws and KS IT Security policies and processes
  • Oversee project delivery and operational support and manage escalations
  • Provide support to the team to execute organizational goals and deliverables

Qualifications and Skills
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in eCommerce technology, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce Commerce Cloud
  • Proven track record of successful eCommerce platform implementations and management
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, APIs, etc.) and eCommerce systems
  • Vendor Management skills; including selection, contracts, and delivery/ operational management
  • Strong financial/budget management and prior ownership of technology financials.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience in Agile and Scrum methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Objective leader, with the ability to make tough decisions and manage delicate situations
  • Excellent communication skills; able to effectively present complex solutions to technical and non-technical audience at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solver, collaborative and effective at building consensus across the organization
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and developing talent
  • Easily adaptable to fast paced, ever-changing environment
  • Experience in navigating and managing portions of Portfolio Management
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Works well with a high degree of autonomy

Preferred:
  • Experience with other Salesforce solutions
  • Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect, Salesforce Certified Platform Developer).
  • Experience with other eCommerce platforms (e.g., Magento, Shopify).
  • Familiarity with SEO, SEM, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Retail environment experience is a plus
