Position Overview
The Director of IT Infrastructure will oversee and manage the organization's Computing Infrastructure (cloud/ on-prem), networks, telecom, and endpoint infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency, security, and scalability for the company's 3500+ users, 150+ stores, home office, and distribution center. The role requires a strong emphasis on budget management, vendor performance oversight, and cost optimization, alongside delivering robust solutions to support our selling channels and corporate functions. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with exceptional financial management and leadership skills to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability across all IT infrastructure components.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive IT infrastructure strategy to meet business objectives, including cost efficiency, scalability, and performance.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a small internal team along with our 3rd-party infrastructure vendors ensuring deliverables, timelines, and quality standards are met.
  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, including contract negotiations, performance evaluations, and establishment and adherence to SLAs.
  • Financial Management: Develop, monitor, and control IT infrastructure budgets, forecasting expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Infrastructure Operations: Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of IT systems, data centers, cloud solutions, and networks to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and scalability.
  • Cybersecurity & Compliance: Partner with IT security teams to continuously improve and maintain robust security protocols, including risk management, disaster recovery, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Monitoring & Reporting: Establish KPIs and monitor IT infrastructure performance, providing regular updates to leadership and making data-driven decisions.
  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, proactively identifying opportunities to improve systems and processes.

Qualifications and Skills
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing vendor-provided engineering teams.
  • Vendor Management: Proven experience managing third-party vendor relationships, including performance evaluation, SLA adherence, and contract negotiations.
  • Budget Management: Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting, and managing large IT budgets, ensuring cost optimization and accountability.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and align both internal and vendor teams with organizational objectives, foster collaboration, and drive results.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex IT concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and decision-making skills to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related challenges.
  • Project Management: Strong experience managing complex IT projects, budgets, and timelines.
  • Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of IT systems, networks, data centers, cloud platforms and cybersecurity frameworks. Technical experience with the following platforms is preferred: Meraki, VeloCloud SD-WAN, VPNs, AWS, VMware, AWS, Oracle Cloud, O365, Workspace One, Carbon Black, Windows Security Policies, Active Directory
  • Location: Based in Austin, TX, preferred; remote candidates considered.
