Job Description

The BCBS (Basel Committee on Banking Supervision) team within the Firmwide CDO provides strategic leadership for technology delivery and data governance activities related to achieving compliance with the BCBS Principles and associated regulatory guidance. This entails working with the Chief Data Offices, Business Functions and Technology Teams within the LOBs and Corporate Functions to agree and implement a common set of data governance practices supported by new tooling. The BCBS program also includes the development of a new data governance framework needed to support the specific data oversight needs of the BCBS program. The BCBS team also collaborates with governance Subject Matter Experts along with stakeholders in the JPMSE legal entity and CDO Offices to deliver this governance framework in accordance with the overall firmwide data governance requirements

As a Vice President-Basel Committee on Banking Supervision (BCBS) Lead team within the firmwide CDO, you will be responsible for working with stakeholders to define governance and tooling requirements and building out the BCBS Data Governance framework. In addition, you will be responsible for developing detailed project plans for the BCBS deliverables owned by the firmwide CDO and delivering in accordance with those plans. Lastly, you will play a role in developing and syndicating the content used for the BCBS governance meetings. This position will play a critical role in the success of the BCBS program. A successful candidate will be able to contribute thought-leadership and engage with senior leaders across the Firm.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the BCBS book of work owned by the Firmwide CDO
  • Support the definition, prioritization and resolution of governance and requirements decisions needed by the BCBS program
  • Collect, synthesize, analyze and present project data and findings
  • Conduct analyses to identify issues and formulate recommendations
  • Develop strategic presentations for internal audiences
  • Develop regular, compelling communications on project status.
  • Research data governance requirements and potential solutions
  • Collaborate effectively across organizations, functions and geographies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 5+ years of industry experience with a strong data, analytics or product background
  • Diverse problem solving experience,
  • An outstanding ability to drive consensus amongst a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deliverables and work simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal leadership and influencing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience/ Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Economics, or other related area

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience and technical knowledge of data management and governance, big data platforms, or data architecture is preferred
