Job responsibilities

  • Identify and monitor key leading indicators of risk in mortgage Default Servicing and Bankruptcy. Detect, analyze, summarize, and escalate unexpected trends to senior management.
  • Generate analytics that support a Risk point-of-view, and make data-driven recommendations to mitigate risks, and solve business issues that have a direct impact on the bottom-line of the business
  • Synthesize large quantities of data using tools such as Teradata, ORACLE & SAS
  • Enhance the quality and efficiency of the reports and processes based on new/updated data availability; analyze the data and provide relevant recommendations for the business
  • Validate and track strategies/solutions at regular intervals and identify enhancements
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to support business partners' strategies to manage and minimize losses and mitigate risk
  • Work efficiently in a diverse, multi-geographic team, effectively sharing knowledge and ideas. Promote a constructive, positive team environment and maintain trust, transparency, information sharing, and support for common goals. Simplify and present complex business problems and associated solutions to senior management
  • Develop understanding of mortgage servicing and subject matter expertise for default servicing and bankruptcy
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis, and generate reports for Risk Management by extracting data, performing data manipulation / quality checks, developing actionable insights
  • Create effective PowerPoint presentations that will drive business processes and initiatives, Support Servicing Risk stakeholders and develop strong professional relationships, Demonstrate high level of personal initiative and adapt to changing priorities with changes in the business landscape

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in analytics. Experience in Financial industry, Risk Analytics or Mortgage Servicing
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative subject, such as Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Economics with relevant experience. MBA or other Master's degree
  • Strong analytical, investigative, interpretive and problem solving skills with the ability to interpret large amounts of data, identify actionable insights, and quantify their impact on the operational and financial areas of the business.
  • Advanced programming and analytical skills, with minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in SAS and/or SQL programming (ORACLE, Teradata) required.
  • Strong organizational skills to proactively manage own book of work, communicate status updates, and determine next steps and prioritizations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to create and present effective PowerPoint presentations. Effective time management skills to handle competing priorities appropriately to meet tight deadlines. Capable of working independently and as a contributing team member, to meet team and department goals with a strict timeline.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office required (Excel, Power Point, Word, and Outlook). Must be able to adapt to various technology environments to support data and analytics.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail, high level of accuracy, and strong work ethic. Experience with Tableau or Alteryx and/or automation. Knowledge of advanced analytical tools and techniques. Self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams.
  • Ability to independently drive projects and collaborate across teams to provide analytical solutions.
