Reporting into the Head of the Office of the CIO, you will develop and drive strategic planning within and across business units to ensure effective decision making, defined leadership routines, and business operations to reinforce a high-performing technology culture. With direct functional accountability for a team of strategic planning and portfolio management professionals, you will orchestrate the process of managing our portfolio data, assist in the administration of our Agile tools and reporting, and oversee the overall flow of routines that it takes to run a large organization smoothly.

In partnership with our senior leaders, you will build transparency into the technology portfolio, creating processes and routines in how we can best develop an end-to-end view of our product development work:

  • Developing and implementing portfolio management processes and governance frameworks that aid in monitoring and reporting on the performance of the project portfolio, identifying risks and opportunities, and assisting teams with effective resource allocation and prioritization of projects.
  • Tracking Objectives and KPIs (OKPIs) that blend the product technology measures with key business outcomes of success.
  • Readying results for business management routines, including the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) and Quarterly Technology Review (QTR).
  • Partnering with Finance to track and monitor overall work and objective costs, and work with HR to align headcount and people strategies to the portfolio, ensuring financial discipline and accountability for cost optimization opportunities and efficiency improvements.
  • Realizing value from and influence the use of enterprise portfolio tools to maximize and empower our product leaders to effectively run their products and report on results.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing both high-level and detailed views of CBPT's portfolio of products, capabilities, initiatives, resources, and investments; function as a connection, in partnership with finance, to enterprise-wide efforts such as the Quarterly Tech Review.
  • Providing thought leadership and perspective on the alignment of our products, offerings, and initiatives against our strategy, and the ability of both existing and new work to drive key customer and business outcomes.
  • Supporting and developing forward-looking comprehensive plans - anticipating needs, seeking and incorporating input from leaders, maintaining and prioritizing topics, providing ongoing transparency, and managing follow-up.
  • Coordinating portfolio efforts in partnership with Enterprise Planning and provide visibility to CBPT's senior management team on upcoming presentation requests to relay expectations and guidelines, facilitate and prepare deliverables across teams.
  • Working across Fidelity Brokerage Operations Technology (FBOT) leaders and respective strategy and planning leads across the Enterprise to deliver executive-level reporting and communications that identify critical decisions, key dependencies, risks, challenges, and other notable topics across senior leader forums that accelerate progress and remove roadblocks.
  • Developing and supporting the multi-year plan process, in partnership with Finance and with Strategy leads both within the Core Brokerage business and across the Enterprise.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business or a technical area (MIS, Computer Science, Engineering) required; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience, ideally in large-scale program management, consulting, and/or business strategy & planning.
  • Strategic professional with proven success working in large, matrixed organizations with senior leadership to build alignment and drive prioritization.
  • Consistent record of translating strategy into actions that drive clear and measurable outcomes.
  • Self-awareness of your own style and leadership approach, adapting behaviors as appropriate to strengthen and maintain relationships.
  • Strong people management acumen, with expertise in executive presence and communication skills to influence all levels of an organization.
  • Proven ability to interact and negotiate effectively with peers through personal interactions and written communications.
  • Highly organized - can work under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail and quick turn-around in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Strong partner with a proven ability to rally support and move distributed groups to action collaboratively.
  • Intellectually curious and analytically oriented, with an ability to lead and put hands to keyboard when needed to contribute to the team's success.
