You will manage a team of asset class controllers in the Tax area. This will involve working with senior management to support the delivery of key objectives for the department.

You will be expected to support your team, coach them through issues as they arise, and develop them and their processes to ensure good controls around all reconciliations. This role provides plenty of opportunities to work in conjunction with global Tax team as well as other FFC Teams to resolve issues and improve overall knowledge.

As Tax Asset Class Control (TAX ACC) Vice President, you will be performing many controls, checks, analysis and reconciliations with a focus on the data surrounding Tax. The common functions and activities owned by Tax ACC include but are not limited to the following: extracting the raw data from various systems, calculation of tax related to Equity products such as stocks, bonds, & derivatives, balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation, manual accounting/bookings to the general ledger, audit support for the Corporate Tax Organization, and executing the month end close in regards to timely tax postings and reporting.

Job responsibilities

  • Manages and is responsible for the support of Tax Organization by understanding data, calculating tax, and reviewing postings to the general ledger and ensuring it is completed in an efficient and controlled manner
  • Work closely with line of business controllers, product controllers, corporate tax, & project managers to drive forth and implement robust controls and implement strategic initiatives
  • Partner with various FFC teams globally to centralize Tax related activities to Tax ACC
  • Manage month end, quarter end, and year end activities related to Tax postings in the general ledger
  • Engage hands-on in multiple projects, proactively identifying process enhancements and working with stakeholders to enact change in a timely manner.
  • Perform various control procedures & reconciliations to ensure the integrity of reported financials
  • Proactively identify process and infrastructure enhancements, collaborating with stakeholders to enact change.
  • Mobilize change wherever possible in order to simplify processes and enhance controls

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive work experience within Tax, Financial Control, Accounting, or related area
  • People management experience
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail including a strong control focus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Ability to critically challenge with the goal of identifying control issues
  • Excellent command of business English and communication skills (both written and spoken)
  • Educated to at least Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) level

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Previous Tax experience is preferable
  • Solid understanding of financial products such as stocks, bonds, & derivatives
  • Multiple years of people management experience and a track record of developing individuals and building a global team
