The Role
Global Custody Product Management is seeking a senior-level U.S. Custody Product Manager to oversee all aspects of custody services in the U.S. market. The ideal candidate will drive and maintain servicing capabilities aligned with U.S. market practices and serve as a key contributor to the global Custody business. This role demands strong collaborative skills to drive U.S. initiatives, navigate industry and regulatory changes, and enhance product differentiation to maintain a competitive edge.
Job responsibilities
- Lead the modernization, growth, and maintenance of the U.S. custody strategy.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the operating model for the U.S. market.
- Liaise with local market infrastructure and service providers.
- Develop and execute market initiatives in alignment with the global direction of the Securities Services product line.
- Clearly articulate JPM's competitive proposition and key differentiators, including significant business drivers, opportunities, and risks.
- Represent the custody product and its clients in interactions with local regulators, and act as the lead advocate with market infrastructure and trade representative groups.
- Contribute to the service documentation related to the product.
- Plan and deliver a coordinated program of innovative market information to clients efficiently and in various formats.
- Coordinate across Operations, Client Service, and Technology to ensure product development aligns with the overall market strategy.
- Partner with local and functional Compliance to ensure the custody product operates within all relevant regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain a strong focus on risk and controls, ensuring issues are identified, escalated, and managed effectively and transparently.
- Contribute to client change requests concerning the market.
- Demonstrate principled leadership in aspects of culture and conduct.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
This role is varied, demanding, requires the ability to think strategically, and to partner with diverse teams to drive efficiency and process enhancement. In order to be successful in this role, the individual should have the following background and skill set:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in U.S. custody, with comprehensive knowledge of the custody lifecycle, including safekeeping, settlement, and all aspects of asset servicing such as corporate actions, income processing, proxy services, and tax products.
- In-depth understanding of market participants, local regulations, client requirements, and market practices, demonstrated through established relationships, past experience, and previous achievements.
- Proven track record in delivering and managing change effectively.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey clear, concise messages and leverage the broader organization to achieve objectives.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process re-engineering skills.
- Highly motivated and energetic self-starter with a strong sense of ownership.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks across different time horizons while meeting deadlines.
- Solid understanding of business processes and the application of appropriate risk controls.
- Proven ability to manage teams both directly and through dotted-line relationships, as well as across support areas to achieve overall objectives.
- A strong understanding of the regulatory environment, its evolution, and its ongoing impact on the custody product.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively under pressure.

- A confident and driven executive with the ability to engage effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, securing their support for key initiatives.

- Local market expertise is a key differentiator for the product; the candidate should be recognized as a significant market participant with a clear responsibility to represent our clients in market discussions, topics, seminars, and consultations. Additionally, they must communicate these developments to clients in an engaging and relevant manner.
