Staff Writer, San Francisco - The Infatuation

We are looking for an exceptional and compelling writer to write reviews, guides and newsletters on San Francisco restaurants.

As a Staff Writer, San Francisco in The Infatuation (CDJ), you will spend your nights checking out as many restaurants as possible, and your days writing about them, alongside a talented, dedicated team of smart, funny people who love exploring this city. This is a full-time position and you'll receive a monthly budget to spend at restaurants that you are reviewing for our publication.

Job Responsibilities

  • Dine out multiple times per week for restaurant research using your restaurant budget.
  • Write reviews and guides in collaboration with your Editor.
  • Participate in editorial brainstorms and team meetings, pitching new restaurants to cover and ideas for new situational guides.
  • Meet or exceed deadlines while pushing the larger editorial calendar forward.
  • Contribute to city newsletter and social media content, including appearing on camera as needed.
  • Partner with social media and marketing teams on larger content packages.
  • Work in collaboration with the social team to amplify editorial content and create unique social content. You are comfortable appearing on camera for our social channels.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • 2+ years of experience as a writer at a reputable print or digital media publication.
  • Exceptional creative writing and editorial skills.
  • Ability to write copy and create content adhering to The Infatuation's brand standards and tone of voice.
  • Passionate about San Francisco with expert knowledge of its neighborhoods and restaurants.
  • Excited about dining out and sharing commentary on experiences.
  • Reside in or near San Francisco.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

  • Experience in food, beverage, or general lifestyle writing.
  • Openness and willingness to try a wide variety of menu items and cuisines.
