As a Senior Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Asset & Wealth Management Advisor & Investment Technology Team, you lead multiple technical areas, and collaborate across technical domains. Your expertise is applied cross-functionally to drive the adoption and implementation of technical methods within various teams and aid the firm in remaining at the forefront of industry trends, best practices, and technological advances.

Job responsibilities

  • Oversees the design and implementation of range of Wealth Management applications, including Financial Entry, Financial Overview, Investor Tools (such as Positions, Transactions, Tax Lots), Content Creation, Data Platform Services, Portfolio Search, and Portfolio Insights, ensuring high availability and high performance.
  • Oversees the delivery of large-scale projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
  • Mentors and guide technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence in software engineering practices.
  • Leads the architecture and design of complex platforms, ensuring alignment with business goals and technological advancements.
  • Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them to technical solutions.
  • Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams to develop and execute strategic engineering initiatives.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams including developers, engineers, product managers and business stakeholders.
  • Provides visionary leadership in the adoption and integration of AWS technologies to enhance scalability and performance.
  • Champions the development of supportable and scalable products, leveraging industry best practices and emerging technology trends.
  • Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on architecture frameworks, design patterns concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ year of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise and more broadly across the organization.
  • Proven track record in technical leadership, including resource management and strategic project delivery.
  • Experience developing or leading large or cross-functional teams of technologists.
  • Experience delivering large scale enterprise applications with high performance / high availability.
  • Experience with highly reliable and redundant solutions that comply with international data usage regulations in both on-prem data centers and AWS environments.
  • Experience with real time (or near real time) event streaming application implementations.
  • Strong proficiency in software development methodologies, architecture frameworks, design patterns, testing and operational stability.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
  • Proficient in one or more programming language(s) - (Java / Python / React / etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all organizational levels, including senior executives

  • Knowledge of AI/ML technologies and architecture
