As a Software Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Digital group, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Participate in design and develop scalable and resilient systems in a timely manner using Java or Python and JavaScript to contribute to continual, iterative improvements for product teams
- Design, write, comment and unit test code to confirm software modules are of the highest quality
- Build UI using React , write test cases and deploy
- Collaborate with teams in multiple regions and time zones
- Participate in scrum team stand-ups, code reviews and other ceremonies, contribute to task completion and blocker resolution within your team

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience
- Proficiency in UI development with experience in React or Angular, TypeScript, CSS, Micro FrontEnd Development, JavaScript, Mock frameworks as well as US ADA, Section 508, and W3C WCAG 2.1 standards
- Exposure to Public or Private cloud based environments
- Automation experience with Cucumber / Automated Functional Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) and agile tools e.g., JIRA
- Related assistive technology knowledge and experience with tools like JAWS, NVDA, and/or Window Eyes screen readers
- Accessibility knowledge for UI development (common electronic communication accessibility barriers) to help people with hearing, physical, speech, cognitive, and vision disabilities
- Experienced with accessibility testing per WCAG 2.1 Level A & AA Success Criteria
- Hands on experience as a software engineer with focus on customer facing journeys and modern agile software delivery practices such as Scrum, CI/CD Jules and DDD, and DevOps
