The Firmwide Risk Executive (FRE) for Reputation Risk establishes the reputation risk framework for the firm. Firmwide Reputation Risk Governance oversees the framework including policy/standards, infrastructure and processes to support the consistent identification, escalation, management, and monitoring of reputation risk issues firmwide.

As a Reputation Risk associate, within the Reputation Risk Team, you will assess the risk that an action or inaction that may negatively impact perception of the firm's integrity and reduce confidence in the firm's competence by various stakeholders, including clients, counterparties, customers, communities, investors, regulators, or employees.

The role is aligned to the Firmwide Reputation Risk Governance team, that has oversight responsibilities and defines the escalation criteria and reputation risk framework for the firm. Firmwide Reputation Risk Governance provides centralized thought leadership on issues that have the potential to damage the firm's reputation including advising the various Line Of Business Reputation Risk Offices.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop an understanding of Firmwide and Line Of Business reputation risk themes and issues
  • Understanding of current political, social and economic state of global affairs is essential to the role.
  • Participate in reputation risk tactical and strategic projects, including heightened risk sector reviews, risk reporting, and training to key stakeholders.
  • Responsible for preparing periodic Firmwide and Line Of Business reporting, including developing a thematic analysis of Line Of Business and regional activity for senior management.
  • Review global regulatory legal obligations for potential impact to reputation risk management
  • Identify and proactively assess opportunities for process improvements including with our risk technology application and reporting, which will require liaising with the Technology, Risk Reporting and Middle Office teams
  • Research and monitor negative media, including social media trends, as necessary

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • 3+ years of experience in the financial services industry.
  • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership and manages deliverables with a strong attention to detail and completes deliverables in a timely manner; maintain a high standard of controls
  • Collaborates effectively with colleagues at all levels of seniority, across all Lines Of Business and Corporate functions
  • Ability to quickly understand and assess complex situations or products, make decisions and escalate, when necessary
  • Strong analytical skill set, commercial judgment and influencing abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly and succinctly demonstrate a sound understanding of the most relevant issues, risks and concerns (including in written communications) and provide an independent assessment
  • Experience and knowledge of the firm's distinct business lines, processes and products

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in the financial services industry. (Investment Banking, Risk or Legal) preferred.
