As an Area Product Owner in the Office of Regulation and Document Governance, you will be a vital member of the team overseeing the entire product development lifecycle. Your role will significantly impact the creation of innovative products and the continuous enhancement of existing offerings, driven by user research and customer feedback. Your expertise in product development and technical requirements will be key to guiding successful product launches, gathering essential feedback, and ensuring exceptional client experiences. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that align with both business objectives and customer expectations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand, contribute, and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the ORDG products, ensuring alignment with business objectives and value.
  • Define and track clear metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success.
  • Use a multitude of approaches to gather, analyze, and prioritize business and technical requirements, translating them into user stories and acceptance criteria. Define deliverables, including testing, measurement, monitoring, and support strategies.
  • Work closely with data engineers, data scientists, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery. Engage with business partners to agree on scope and success criteria.
  • Oversee specific capabilities within the platform to ensure consistency and robust development. Each Product Owner is responsible for the successful delivery of specific scrums, working closely with the Engineering Lead and Agility Lead to define the scrum book of work.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring it reflects the highest value features and enhancements.
  • Plan and coordinate releases, including feature prioritization, sprint planning, and sprint review sessions. Identify dependencies on external teams and coordinate cross-team releases.
  • Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and impediments that may impact delivery timelines or product quality.
  • Ensure sufficient training, documentation and communications are available for successful product launches. Conduct regular demos to ensure the product meets objectives.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system specifications, user guides, and process documentation, to ensure clear communication and knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve business processes, systems, and tools. Propose and implement enhancements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Required qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Advanced understanding of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead product life cycle activities, including discovery, ideation, strategic development, and value management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders and document requirements clearly.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in data analysis, documentation, and requirement gathering.
  • Ability to identify problems, think critically, and develop practical solutions. This includes troubleshooting technical issues and proposing process improvements.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights to support business decisions. Proficiency in using analytical tools and techniques is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, build relationships with stakeholders, and facilitate discussions to gather requirements and resolve issues.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles, including task prioritization, time management, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A strong focus on understanding and meeting the needs of internal and external customers, ensuring that solutions are user-friendly and add value to the business.
  • Experience using innovation and design thinking methodologies to solve complex problems and improve processes in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Preferred qualifications, skills and capabilities

  • Passion for emerging technologies and digital solutions.
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization with global stakeholders.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO).
  • Experience with analytical tools.
  • Experience working with Agile methodologies like Kanban & Scrum.
