Network Management team is responsible for the selection and management of the network of agent banks used by the firm. In this role, the group covers the purchasing and maintenance of securities services (custody and clearing) and cash services (payments and other foreign currency services) for LOBs firm-wide. The group also maintains third party oversight of financial market infrastructures relationships in which J.P. Morgan is a direct participant, such as central counterparties, central securities depositories and payment systems. Currently, that network spans nearly 200 financial market infrastructures and over 500 agent banks, including sub-custodians, nostro account relationships, and cash agent/partner banks in over 100 markets. The team works closely with these entities and regulatory authorities in each country to identify market practices, tax rules & strategies, and rules associated with foreign investment.

Network Management has regional presence in Bournemouth, Hong Kong, London, New York, Singapore, Frankfurt, Tampa and Mumbai. J.P. Morgan's regional approach allows the firm to provide 24 x 7 coverage of our network and to respond to client queries quickly with the most current in-depth market knowledge.

Job responsibilities

  • Manage BAU operations including changes to party reference data, off-boarding's, third-party agent documentation, data retention, metric reporting. Keep up to date - Standard Operating Procedures, control check list, Task Managers etc.
  • Act as an independent data guardian who would be responsible for ensuring the quality and fitness for purpose of the Network Management data within the golden source MINT & Ariba for documents. Ensure reconciliations/ affirmations of data across various sources is performed accurately to check & maintain data integrity.
  • Always be audit-ready, partner with controls team to ensure controls and process disciplines are rigorously maintained and continually enhanced through metrics reporting, risk assessment testing, quality assurance and root cause analysis.
  • Manage regulatory investigations/testing; Audit/Compliance review; control checks. Prepare data for various audit / ad hoc requests.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and maintain deep relationships with key Network Management Stakeholders and functional partners including NM Senior Leaders, Network Managers, Regional Leads, Product, Technology, reporting teams and control functions across the International region. Influence peers with diverse points of view and build consensus.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in financial services operations, preferably with experience in party reference data, document management, onboarding, offboarding, KYC or a closely related operations leading strategic or transformational change.
  • Strong understanding of data & document management concepts, principles and practices
  • Knowledge on data analysis tools like Alteryx & Tableau will be beneficial for this role.
  • Proven track record on simplification / automation of tasks.
  • Experience in change management across multiple work streams with varying timelines, priorities and complexities.
  • Proven ability to execute via successful internal partnerships with other organizations.
  • Structured thinker, effective communicator with excellent written communication skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and ability to remain calm under pressure.
