Quant Analytics Manager - Card Finance Portfolio Valuations - Vice President

You will have the opportunity to drive key business decisions partnering with the Card Marketing Growth and Innovation (MG&I) team and the Card Acquisitions Risk organization supporting strategies driving profitable Card balance and revenue growth.

As a Quant Analytics Vice President in the Card Finance Investment Analytics team, you will be responsible for the financial management and investment valuation of our Credit Card Balance Transfer (BT) and Credit Line Management programs. These are long-standing programs that are critical to the growth of our business while operating within our firm's risk/return framework, and importantly provide customers with choice and flexibility when it comes to their financial needs. You will also support Card's pricing actions, which is one of the strategic priorities across Consumer and Community Bank and Card Risk Acquisition valuations which directly influence the decision engine for Card Acquisitions and are key in growing the Card portfolio.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead a global team of ~8 analyzing, measuring, and optimizing lending investments, pricing, and credit risk decisions for the Card MG&I and Card Risk organizations
  • Create data driven insights to advise senior stakeholders on profitable investment decisions contributing to revenue and balance growth for the Card portfolio
  • Fully own the end-to-end investment modeling and financial valuations working with multiple stakeholders across Lending, Pricing, Risk, Analytics, Treasury, Finance
  • Participate in the business planning / forecasting process and regulatory stress testing cycles in partnership with the broader Card Finance community
  • Prepare and provide monthly management updates on Balance Transfer, Credit Line, and Pricing strategy performance and monitor for key opportunities and risks
  • Evaluate performance and profitability of lending and pricing programs along with credit risk decisions to influence new offers and strategies - be a leader in white space thinking and challenging the status quo
  • Identify opportunities to reengineer and improve upon existing investment modeling processes to reduce cycle time and improve accuracy
  • Maintain all model governance in adherence to firmwide governance purposes including periodic updates to model documentation for changes in methodology, regular internal governance review, and on-going performance assessment
  • Ultimately be a healthy safeguard/challenge to the business in balancing out the risk/return trade-off

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics (or related discipline)
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis or decision science including leading a team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to analyze large data sets and present conclusions concisely
  • Experience in interacting and communicating recommendations to senior business leaders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence senior management
  • Possess strong intellectual drive in understanding how different parts of the business and the competitive landscape impact our investment strategies
  • Proactive - continually drives to understand unique needs of each business and/or program and challenges status quo
  • Strong proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and strong command of investment modeling (e.g. NPV, ROI, et al)
  • Proficiency with modern analytics tools (e.g., Alteryx, Python, SAS, SQL, Tableau)

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and Skills:

  • Advanced degree in Finance, Business Management, or Strategy
  • Exposure to Credit Card industry
