Volatility and Structuring J.P. Morgan's Equities Derivatives and Strategic Index trading organization s delivering innovative and industry leading products for trading and managing risks. The Product Development Team sits within those two businesses and leads the end-to-end delivery of platforms and technological capabilities used by trading, quantitative researchers, and external clients. This includes leading commercial opportunity assessment, defining product strategy, product design, resource alignment and leading end-to-end implementation across all aspects fo the trade lifecycle including electronic trading, risk computation and evaluation, scenario analysis, trade lifecycle management, etc.

Position Summary:

We are looking for an Associate n Associate to join the Product Development Team. The responsibilities of the role include defining, measuring, and driving the implementation of strategic initiatives for the Equities Derivatives and Strategic Index businesses. The role will require working stakeholders Quantitative Research, to define product strategy, go-to-market planning, and managing the oversight of the technical implementation and measurement. This is an inherently technical role sitting within a revenue-generating Front Office capacity.

Job responsibilities:
  • Lead the end-to-end implementation for new initiatives, including defining the business purpose, benefit, technical implementation details, and measurements of success across multiple levels of seniority
  • Sitting within the revenue-generating business to prioritize the most significant elements of work needed to optimize go-to-market delivery and risk mitigation
  • Perform the Product Owner role from a Front Office perspective for multiple initiatives including establishing the 'definition of done' and measurements of success
  • Close partnership with colleagues to understand business opportunities, process improvements, applied workflows, and to deliver strategic platform and product solutions.
  • Development of business requirements, technical specifications and implementation in partnership with the respective business users and technology teams.
  • Establish appropriate governance, including control processes and procedures, for the new business to be supported as defined.
  • This role will be based in New York and may require some global travel as and when necessary.

    Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:

    • At least 3+ years work experience
    • Minimum Bachelors' degree from an accredited academic institution
    • Demonstrated ability to articulate complex software or mathematical concepts into written and spoken natural language intuited by participants of varying degrees of expertise

    Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

    • 3-5+ years' experience working in financial institutions, preferably Investment banks
    • Relevant and recent programming experience (Python, Java, or C++ are all applicable)
    • Applied quantitative financial product knowledge, ideally Equity Derivatives
    • Highly organized and disciplined product owner skills (e.g. Agile, Kanban, etc.), and experience in the delivery of large scale projects in complex operating environments (e.g. Confluence, Jira, Agile dev, etc.)
    • Demonstrable understanding of E2E trading system architecture and technology capabilities from both a tactical and strategic viewpoint
    • common technology and presentation skills (e.g. API documentation, technical specifications writing, jira/confluence/bitbucket, etc.)
