New Product Risk & Control Assessments Associate

As a Client Operations Associate in Payments, you will be responsible for the oversight and governance of Client Onboarding and Service risks and controls associated with Payments' new products and services globally. You will be required to engage with a multitude of internal stakeholder groups including, but not limited to: Product/Functions, Operations, Client Service, Technology/Platforms, Risk, Compliance, and Legal.

Job responsibilities

  • Design and implement risk and control assessment checklists for new or changing products/functions, operations, services, client segments, regulations, legal entities, and technology/platforms
  • Work closely with Solutions Readiness and Solutions Commercialization teams to create a unified assessment approach for new or changing products and services
  • Anticipate internal and external factors impacting the business' governance and implement plans to mitigate risks (Operational, Financial and Reputational) and capitalize on opportunities
  • Work closely with cross functional partners, including senior leadership, to ensure operational and regulatory obligations are met
  • Manage clear expectations and understanding by establishing clear timelines and managing documentation requirements. Apply standard project management principles and project support by coordinating/facilitating meetings, managing/overseeing scorecards, milestones, deliverables, timelines, risks, dependencies, issues, etc.
  • Demonstrate creative problem solving, solid judgment/decision making skills, ownership and escalation/resolution of risk issues when they occur in a timely manner
  • Build and design applicable KPI/metric based reporting and maintain ongoing Governance reporting

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum of five years' experience in Payments industry with a good understanding of J.P. Morgan Payments' products and services
  • Ability to navigate a large and complex organization with multiple matrix relationships and ability to adapt to a changing environment. Ability to build strong working relationships with business partners in internal/external LOBs
  • Self-starter with a proven track record in execution with solid project management capabilities
  • Ability to complete work to deadlines, with a sense of urgency thorough effective time management including: goal setting, planning, prioritizing, scheduling, and monitoring
  • Excellent report writer and summarizer of complex issues / solutions. Superior presentation and communication skills. Can sell self and ideas
  • Demeanor that promotes an inclusive culture of collaboration and teamwork

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Familiarity with data visualization / automation tools - Tableau, Xceptor, Alteryx
  • Attention to detail combined with an ability to absorb information and form an opinion or conclusion
  • Self-motivation coupled with strong analytical skills and internal process control skills
