Job responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, providing guidance on daily tasks and activities.
  • Set expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Identify and manage dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications effectively.
  • Oversee stakeholder relationships and ensure the team's work adheres to compliance standards and service level agreements.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect, prioritizing diverse representation within the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (Java, Spring Boot, Python) & AWS (Note: AWS experience is mandatory)
  • Experience with middleware/integration technologies such as Kafka and MQ
  • Proven experience in leading technology projects and managing technologists
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Basic knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
  • Practical cloud-native experience, with hands-on experience in AWS; AWS Developer Associate certification is preferred
  • Education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working at code level
  • Financial domain knowledge
